Islam and homosexuality, Parvez enters the many worlds of Islam by illuminating
multiple stories as diverse as Islam itself. The film travels a wide geographic arc
presenting us lives from India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, South Africa and France.
We meet men and women whose pursuit of love has brought them into conflicts with
their countries, families and even themselves. Such is the quandary of being both
homosexual and Muslim, a combination so taboo that very little about it has been
documented.

The winner of five international awards and with thousands in more than 20 nations
applauding and engaging with this work, 'A Jihad for Love' has inspired an intense
media blitz and an inspiring and though provoking dialogue about Islam in these
challenging times of Islamophobia. Launched at the prestigious Toronto International
Film Festival in September 2007 and with its European launch as the opening film of
Panorama Dokumente at the Berlin Film Festival in February, 2008, 'A Jihad for Love'
has now traveled across the world.
